Case study 1- The office for National Statistics (ONS):

The programme required the transformation of an existing Human Resource Operating model. This involved design, build, test, and deliver recruitment, payroll, HR, Training services for approximately 40,000 staff to support the 2021 Census, for The Office for National Statistics (ONS). 

The second phase of the programme was to decommission systems once the Census was complete. The solution was deployed with Census 2021 taking place as scheduled.

Key challenges included fixed timelines, limited in-house developer and technical capacity, lack of in-house agile experience and challenges accessing SME and stakeholder time.

 Case study 2 - Justice, Military, Police:

National Digital Service Programme being rolled out across the Police network. Sensitivity precludes divulgence of details, however, the major aim of the programme was to link the regional units together securely and provide joined up access to all Units across England and Wales.
